Recently fitted a new S&S E to my evo. I cannot get the front cylinder to run properly. Getting a bad miss fire, lots of popping in the pipe and running rich. Have checked all electrical connections, all are OK.
It must be an intake manifold leak. I have removed and re fitted, cleaned the heads for a nice smooth surface.
Anyone know any special techniques or tricks to get this thing to seal properly, maybe some liquid gasket. Please help I need to get back on the road.
Manifold is new, came with carb. If I take carb back plate off I can move the whole assembly while the bike is running and it does pick up slightly. I have tried spraying WD40 around the intake flanges. But it does not change or pick up.
I have checked everything electrical. and the rear cylinder runs fine with a light grey exhaust color. If it is not an intake leak! What could it be?
I have also checked the push rod, not too loose, not too tight.
