Looking for a little advice here. I am going to replace my motor on my 90' Electra Guide due to some issues with the crank and head bolts. Does anyone have any info on a good place to find a new 1340 evo oem crate motor? Thanks in advance.
Well getting a crate motor from HD is one way , as you know though the VIN does not match and with the certain states and federal law there are things you need to do with the registration. The HD crate motor is a pooch at 50 hp . There is a hd dealer in VA that sells them cheap, i would
however try to buy one from a local dealer S&S crate would be the top of the line and for off shore crate engines i would not buy a ULTIMA, we have used many and some work and others did not. I think the best buy on import crate engines is the REV tech GEN III, some will laugh and I only smile as I thought the same thing,... until I really knew how durable and powerful thay can be. 3 yr 30K warranty. you can bolt in a 100 or 110 and be done with it.
As I started with the S&S crate is a bangin deal. If you want a 88 inch round cylinder engine( indian) and like that look give us a call they are going cheap these days. S&S turned them loose out of the factory at some very good prices to the dealers
