EVO with a bad Cold.
Hi guys n girls.
Since I'm not that much of a technician, here's my latest problem.
I'm normally drivin a EVO Fatboy, K&Nfilter, Cranecam, open mufflers.
Last wednesday the engine acted real strange.
It ran fine for about 40Kilometers. Then I restarted it and trouble began...
The first ignition resulted in a "puff" of smoke comming thru the Aircleaner. [&:]
The second ignition worked out well, but the engine didn't run smooth at all.
On Idle, it would go puff-puff-puff instead of papuff-papuff....(

When at higher RPM the bike would run fine, but at Low RPM and especially when REopening the throttle, the engine sneezes into the carb or shuts down.
It popped a lot in Decelleration to... more than before.
It's starting hard when hot ever since, can't keep her idlling except with the Choke half out.
When decelerating, it seems like the engine wants to stay in high rpm.
Thinking of a busted spark plug, I changed them (SE-type).
The old ones were coloured White-grey (lean?) ,
while before this problem they used to be more black-grey.
Now it starts a whee bit better, but the sneezing is just the same.
Just to know the options...
Was thinking of a busted valve orIntake seal.
Are there some typical symptoms to look for?
I'll go see a stealer later this month, but first I would like some advice from you guys.
What's the price tag I'm looking at here?
Was hoping to get some COBRA Speedsters later this year but didn't expect these costs.
