Had the time to let the dealer do a 103 build. But something went wrong somewhere. Don’t know if the dealer didn’t know what to do or what. I ask for low end torque and 100/100 if possible.
Here’s the build - 103 jugs .Screaming eagle heads. Forged dome top pistons. Push rods, lifters, Andrews 37G cams, 10:01 ratio .Reinhart True duels. Dyno read out last week was 89 HP 101 TQ. The engine has a lean area we cant get out. A small detination .You roll back the throttle and it skips for a second.
I really thought I would of got more gain and especially in the low end. What went wrong ? Thanks for the help.
Pipes can cause this but even more I would suspect core shift and the wrong quench. Put it back on the dyno and do a pull with something covering over 1/4 of the end of the pipes, 1/2, then take the mufflers off. This should tell you if it's the pipes.
HD Attitude: I had to check the Andrews catalog to be sure (the last time I put an Andrews cam in anything Reagan was president. Anyway your dyno numbers seem more appropriate for a 95 than a 103. Also, your message says you have an '07. The 37G is ONLY for models up to '06 (except Dyna to '05). Are you sure you don't have the 37HG? Good luck, with the set-up you have 100/100 should be very doable.
