I'm wondering if anybody is running the RB racing 2into1 pipes? I hear great things about them but but before I dump that kind of cash I'd like to hear them and get some comments.
A couple of guys in here are running them with no complaints, well other that the wait which is typicaly a month or more.
I ordered one on on Sunday, and they told me 5 weeks last Friday when I called them with some questions.
I here everyone compaining about the price but at 525 $ I dont think its that unreasonable, considering a D&D fat cat is around 600$, and the Rineharts that will be comming off soon were 500$ .
RB markets there pipes like thunderheader and they stiff you another 150 for heat shields if you want them.
I have never seen one on a bike anywhereI have been so im not sure what is going to sound like, but I think it will sound similar to a ThunderHeader but a little meaner at high RPMs
Just curious as to why you chose the RB pipe over the others, obviously because you thought is best for you, but I'd like some feedback. Thanks
Well, im not a pipe repeater, so I wont go back to a Thunder header even though I kinda liked them.
I have read this guys entire sight and I total jive with his thoughts on exhuast performance. I didnt like them at first but after a few days looking at them, I started to like them over the D&Ds. I like a little style with my pipes but im mostly about business, so thats what sold me. (its only money)
After looking at all the gimicks on all theses pipes it is realy a hard choice but every bike and combo is different, so all i can do is make a best guess on what I know, and what I think will work on the bike.
I am running the RB Racing Blackholes and really like them. They are not overly loud, in fact would rate them somewhat louder that the Supertraps, but quieter than the V&H rolled ovals, maybe comparable to the newer Screaming Eagle touring slipons. Quality is excellent and performance is good. What's not too like. I cannot imagine you getting these for $525 as the prices are listed on the website and I know the owner won't budge. If you are, good for you, that is about half price if you include the heat shields. There is a picture of my bike, with a letter I wrote on the RB site. He amazes me in that I wrote him with a modification that would allow not needing a modification to the rear pipe if running the T-max or DTT TCFI II wide band sensors (they hit the top of the transmission, had to put an angled bung on after receiving the pipes) and his response was why would I do such a thing. Bottom line is I would probably buy them again, I think they are a great looking pipe, and all other things are good. Customer service is not bad, but they are slow to ship but they tell you that up front. Talk with Lynn, ignore Bob, you will get farther.
Thanx for the responses folks. Anyone seen the RB pipes in the black finish ? Seems like RB has done their homework (from what I've read) on getting a black finish that withstands the rigors of the road unlike some of the other MFG's crap. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
A friend of mine recently got one for his 113" FLHS. He says it runs good, but is really loud, louder than the Thunderheader he had on it. The one he got is the Pro Stock pipe, I think they make a street pipe that is not as raucous.
