I got my bike back with the S&S gear drive and 510 cams
As the icons show I am happy. The shoes do not look that bad which is good news - I'll try and post some pics
What gear drives are folks talking about? Is the gear built into the new cam OR can the existing cams be changed from chain to gear?
If you need to change the cams with gear drive, which ones are best suited if I am trying to keep stock or a little more performance?
You cannot use the old cams with gear drive. If you think about it, the gears change the direction of rotation, so the cams must be ground with that in mind. The old ones make nice paperweights.
I went with S&S 510G, but haven't got it broke in yet so can't comment on performance. Did it myself and saved some $$$$
liltrk what are you doing for break in? I was told that I should not get on the bike that much for awhile (what ever that means) keep the RPMs down and that was it. Thanks!
