I just put on V&H exhaust, SE A/C,& PCIII on my 08 Fat Bob. I did the exhaust and A/C install myself and indy shop here put on the Power Commander and did the dyno.I noticed some things about the new performance and wondering if this sounds typical to anyone else.
I changed the exhaust first and rode it for about 3 weeks before doing the A/C, & PCIII + Dyno. To me, it felt like I got a big increase in power and the flat spots were gone after I changed the exhaust. I ran it about 50 miles on the interestate varying speed between 70 -90 mpg and it still pulled strong. I was seriously impressed with it.
Last week I put on the A/C and PCIII. I ran it this weekend for the first time and now it seems like it revs up a lot faster than before. Its really quick, but it seems like it tops out faster than before. Especially at high speed. For example, I was going 70 or so, and it felt like the RPMS were up more than before. My instinct was that I was still in 5th, but when I tried to shift, thats when I realized I was already in 6th gear.
The dyno test shows im getting about 75 hp and 89 avg tq. Torque curves is very flat.
Thanks Gunny, but why would the clutch have gotten out of adjustment? Unless, something happened to it on the dyno machine. But, I can definately tell that its reving higher. I used to cruise 65-70 on back roads in 5th and didnt feel like I needed to go to a higher gear. Now it feels like even in 6th I could hit a higher gear going the same speed.
Garyl; you could be right. I tend to over analyze stuff sometimes. I guess now I will have to do some experiments to see what the source of my "perceived" changes are....

You're in Lafayette.......There ARE NO backroads there (unless you have an air boat). My dad lives there, and I grew up in Ville Platte.
