Default Remember me, Mr. disappointed, well not any longer.

I was the one who was not pleased with the results of my build, a 95" big bore, Big Boyz heads, KB pistons, SE203 cams, 30 thous cometic gaskets, 9.4 comp and V&H's tru duals with thunder monsters in the pipes and some rush mufflers with 2 1/2" baffles and a PCIIIusb, I took it to the dyno with only 50 miles on the engine and I got good tq numbers but some lackluster HP #'s, well since then I have changed a few things, I took out the thunder monsters and replaced the 2 1/2" baffles with 2" baffles and put some more miles on the bike, I guess about 300 in all, 200 miles yesterday, the bike is like a new machine, it runs awesome, cudos to PhilM and BryanTTM for putting me onto the baffle swap, apparently I had to much baffling, it was chocking the bike down, this thing will scoot now, a freind of mine has a 02 fatboy with andrews 37 cams gear drives and his bike is still a 88", it dynoed at 82hp and 84 tq, he could always pull away from me with no problem but yesterday was a diff story, he wanted to drop into 4th and do a roll on and when we did I pulled him at least two bike lengths or more, when I hit 5th I was gone, he was stunned and to tell the truth I was to, I am running a little lean now so I will go back to the dyno just for a quick adjust and pull to see what the diff is so I will let you all know, sorry for the long post but Ithought I'd share the good news.

Thanks Robert, happy is a understatment right now, the bike really seems like a different animal, I was also suprised at how smooth it is at cruising speed, smoother than it was before the build, it seems that the engine is breathing better and say at 70mph it seems that it just wants more, feels like it's got plenty of legs under it if that makes any sense, also one more thing, for those wanting rush mufflers get the 2" baffles, they sound alot like rineharts, my freind that has a set of rineharts on his and his wifes bike made that comment to me yesterday.

That's excellent!

I had a sneanking suspecion that those baffles were just too big for your build. The best thing of all is that it was a cheap fix!

I need to chat with this week. About that other event we discussed. Looks like lodging is proving to be a real challenge...
