This is going to be a strange question but I'll give it a try, I noticed on my 06 1200R that the factory went a little crazy with the buffer on the end of the fins. (blk engine with polished fins) I got little shards of aluminum curling up at some of the fins (very small) I just rub my finger and the pop off. Though one was a little larger then i liked but no big deal you can't really tell that anything was there. I'm assuming that with about 510 miles of heat they are starting to curl up. Only on a few fins. Just wondering if anyone had this expreience before? I have thought of my engine curling away......................DL[:'(]
I haven't specifically seen it on an engine, but I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe it's a Monday or Friday polish job and somebody just didn't de-burr it properly. ;-)
I have a long bristled brass brush that I use to clean the bugs and road grime outa the fins... I'd just hit it a few times with that to take the burs off.
