07 Deluxe...bought new from dealer and had the Sert, SE air cleaner, and V&H Big radius "Longshots" installed before taking delivery...
Got tired of the V&H, and installed the Rinehart "Crossbacks"....also added the Nightrider O2 "IED's" at the same time...
The rinehart pipes are about a foot shorter than the V&H, but the same diameter...
Question is....Do I need to have it remapped and dyno'ed??
IMO, the A/F ratio should be about the same...bike seems to run o.k., but I am going on a long run and logging alot miles the beginning of June...Looking for opinions...
Yeah, it's suppossed to richen it up a bit!!....and reduce head temps...just completed it, not too many miles with the upgrade, so its too early to tell If it makes a big difference!!
The easy answer is yes, get it retuned. If you don't have to debate the $ issue. If $ is a question, forget it. Dyno-tuning is as accurate as it gets. If you're not making a living turning quarter-miles, what do you care? Equipment that sensitive will find **** to fix that your brain couldn't. But was it worth it? Only you can decide.
The IED's seem like a waste if the SERT was tuned properly. The IED's are for people who don't want to invest in the SERT and dyno tune, they lower the AFR from 14.8 to 14.1. If you already have the SERT, the AFR should already be adjusted to right range and your bike should be running cooler and better already.
Thanks for the info. on the IED's...I figuered adding them couldn't hurt...My main concern was the shorter pipe of the rineharts compared to the V&H longshots...was wondering If that would change the A/F ratio enough to warrant getting the bike retuned??
nice bike
now by adding the ied technically you already voided the warranty but lets not go there.
now any time you change something on the engine it should be retuned. depending what ya changed mine ya. pipes yes i see a number of guys already answered the question now the real question is where are you going to bring it. i have had my bike with the sert all over NJ and have had pi$$ poorresults every where. altho my bike has a little more work done to it then yours but i finally found a guy in PA not far from you and i. im from exit 131 on the pkwy
