Now that my engine build is all done, broke-in, etc. I'm considering something else. How hard (e.g. amount of time) would it take to pull my heads and just swap pistons for something else? I'm thinking about upping my compression and can do this with a simple piston swap. Is this something that I should attempt myself? What else am I going to have to replace; e.g. rods, gaskets, etc.?
I bought the Snap on dog bones (2) and the rocker box wrenches. you will need a 3/8 torque wrench.
you will need rocker box gaskests, base o-rings and head gaskests with exhaust gaskets, intake o-rings.
I would not even pull off the tank, just prop it up with a 2x4 and let her rip! the biggest PIPA will be the piston pin C-clips, it will be down hill from there.
