can someone give me a straight answer on this. i just updated my 07 softail deluxe with a screaming eagle \\;stage one kit and 2 1/2" cycle shacks Harley Davidson says i should spend 150.00 for a download and other bikers have told me that i dont need to. please help me out, awaiting feedback.

The short answer is YES, you need the upload..... If it was just the mufflers, you could have left it alone....

Once you installed the AC unit, you are now bringing in more air than the stock map was designed for... Therefore you need a bit more fuel to compensate for that extra air...

You can listen to other riders/bikers/posers/virtual techs, etc.... cold hard fact is that you are running with an ECM program that was designed for certain components (Stock AC, Stock mufflers, etc...)... But more air without the additional fuel will generate higher than expected head temps, leaner combustion effect, and increased potential to burn up your pistons/valves....
