Default compression

I'm searching for another Harley. It will be one of the larger models, most likely range from 1990 to 2004. Is there not a general range of what the compression should be, say for example, I'm eyeing a&nbsp\\;2004 electra glide police special. I know airplane jugs are from 60 to 80 lbs. It must be a closely held secret. When I ask the most seasoned Harley owners that question, all I get is the deer in the headlights stare. Including, the guy that is trying to sell me the electra glide. He's been riding harleys for 40 years.

Default RE: compression

Something in the range of 160-180 would be a good target to set on the later engines. The evo's (pre 2000 or so depending on the bike) would be just a bit lower if they were in good condition. Non stock cams will make a difference in the compression pressures also.
