Drag pipe mods
Hi to all. I'll get to the point. I like to do things cheap, keeps me busy and allows me to play with stuff. With that said, I have a set of drag pipes that \\;I am going to install on my 05 dyna. The only thing not stock 88" on it is the S&\\;S Super Shorty E. Realizing that with drag pipes and that big of a carb jetting will need to be done. But what I would like to know, is what do you all think about the following ideas with the drag pipes.

First off, they are 1 3/4" pipes. No step up. Option 1 is taking 12" baffles (you can see them on jpcycles.com) and possibly seal up the "holes" in them and maybe modifying them with washers cut in half installed where one of the halves is on the top side of the baffle, the next one is on the bottom an inch or so away from the first, and \\;so on with 2 more of them. The idea is to get the deeper rumble out of them and yet have sufficient/proper back pressure to get the lower end torque from them.

The second option is to cut and weld, making them a two into one set up, with out using extra materials. Just cut the top pipe curvature out, measure, cut and weld the left over end to meet with the bottom pipe. Cut the bottom pipe slot/hole what ever you want to call it, and weld in the top pipe.

My goal is to get as close to performance exhaust as I can, with out spending the hundreds to actually buy them.
