Crab help
Help. Does the slide on a 40mm CV Klein slide supposed to move up and down when turning the throttle with the engine off? When I took the crab off and it was working. When I put it back on now it isn't working. Didn't do any work on the crab. So I took the slide out and checked the rubber, witch is just fine, no holes. What other reason would the slide not be working? I do have the tank off, so my fuel line is not connected and the carp is out of fuel, also the vacuum line isn't hooked up. Would that make a deference?
Pig the slide, needs the engine to be running to raise. You have a spring on top of that slide, and you need vac+plus air being sucked into the carb by your piston's stroking. go to www.nightrider.com they exp better.
is it a crab or a carp? LOL> you need the vacuum hose hooked up to get your petcock to work, without vacuum it will not let fuel flow. You can check to see if the diaphram is working by blowing into the oblong vent that is at the top of the carb opeing. If you blow in to it (it has to be a good seal) the diaphram should rise and stay up while your are blowing into it. I don't like the taste of gas so I use a flexible plastic hose that is about an inch in diameter that fits perfectly in the vent.
