Default Slow Jet Size

2003 Night Train with Short Shot Exhaust. Previous owner put exhaust on, Screamin Eagle Stage 1 kit, and changed Slow Jet to #48. I took it into my Harley Dealer this week for starting problems, and the changed the jet to a #45. Good or bad move?

depends, how does it run? better or worse. Sometimes a 48 is too big sometimes a 45 is just right and sometimes it needs a 46. It all depends on the bike and mods.

Well the problem I was having was after I would ride for awhile and stop to get gas or take a break. After sitting for 5 -10 minutes the bike didn't want to start back up unless I gave it a lot of throttle and pushed start. They said the reason was the #48 jet was causing the carb to load up and run to rich. I also checked the plugs and they were solid black. So thats why they said I needed a #45 jet. I guess they know what they are talking about. The mods to the bike are V&H Short Shots and Screamin Eagle Stage 1. All done prior to me owning bike
