Default Seating rings

I just had the heads done and jugs bored out on my buddies 80 FLT shovel. It runs good, but puffs blue when it's cold. I ran it 40 miles so far trying to seat the rings, but still puffs blue when it's cold. It's just the rear cylinder. I've been doing the accelerate and decelerate thing, but it just doesn't want to stop puffing...
I had the machine shop put new guides, seats, bore the jugs .030 over- nice criss cross hone pattern and gapped the rings per KB's instructions that came with the pistons.
It smokes cold (pretty good) and then almost clears up completely warm.

If it puffs on excell it's usually the rings, decell valve seal. What was used for lube on the pistons/ rings when assembly?

when my 82 started doing that after a rebuild it turned out to be the exhaust guide on the rear cylinder, i took it back to the guy that did the heads and he said that the heads have had so many
valve jobs done that the largest one available slipped out and ruined the valve stem seal.

He told me he had to buy a "blank" guide and resize and redo the whole job.
that fixed it.

I used 20-50 Rev Tech motorcycle oil to assemble. I'm going to take it back apart. I'm thinking my machinest didn't gap the rings like you should when installing those KB pistons. I'll let you know what i find...

Check to see if you have an oil ring in upside down. Don't ask me how I know.
