I have a 2003 Road King Classic I bought used. It has a 117 in Axtell engine build with an S&S 625 cam. It has been dyno tuned to 122HP and 123fp torque with all the appropriate head work and performance extras. Nothing radical but a solid performer. It currently has a Propipe for the exhaust which is scratched and I want to replace. It runs great as is but I really prefer the look of duals on this bike. I know that a 2-1 is better for performance but I was wondering if there is a set of duals that would be OK to use with this engine that would not hurt the performance much from where it is now. I was looking at the Rineharts as I like the look and sound of them. The current dyno chart shows a torque dip between 2000 and 3000 before it ramps up to 123 which I also understand is typical for the Propipe.
So, is there a set of duals that would keep me close to this performance level or do i need to stay with a 2-1? If duals won't keep me in the ballpark is there a better 2-1 for this build than the Propipe? I've heard D&D makes some good performance 2-1s. Lastly, will I need to remap the Power Commander if i go with anything else besides a new Propipe? I do not have a good performance shop here so I don't want to get into a major retuning.
