There are thousands of post on 95 inch BB upgrades. Most discuss compression and cams.
Does any one have any quality suggestions on a flat top? Cast / Forged / Hyper or Regular Alum.
It may all depend on the build, but here is what I will be working with:
HQ 0034 cam
V&H Pro Pipe 2into1
Indy bored OE cylinders
AN Big Sucker
TMAX w/A-Tuner
Around 10:1 compression
Cleaned up OE Heads
Is there a major difference between SE / Keith Black / Wiseco when it comes to moderate compression on a 95 upgrade?
the answer is this Flat tops are easier to do as you do not have to worry about the domes on the pistons and clearence of the head.
if they are forged pistons they are usually plug and play .
cast you have to clearence the valve releifs in the pistons some times.
Go with a set of forged pistons. The valve reliefs are placed correctly. Still check valve clearance though. Also, they are as bullet proof as they get as compared to cast. Incase you run into detonation, they will hold up better than cast or KB's. They are worth the extra money.
Keener let me give you some advice from experience, I went with alsost the same combo your going with and I used KB's, if you use them you piston to bore clearence is very critical (very), say no more than 1 1/2 thous, the SE cast flatops are excellent pistons and are user freindly, if I had it to do over that's the ones I would use or go with there 10.1 cast, it will be fine for what your doing and will save some cash.
Decided to use those 0034's huh, I think you'll be happy.
