I also run a little Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner every 10 tanks or so to keep the pump, lines and injectors clean.
Gas, even with ethanol, ain't gonna go bad in 3-4 days. If it did, I wouldn't have anything that would run.

Fuel injection cleaner? Not needed in todays gasoline. It has all the detergents needed since FI is hardly something new.

I run RXP regularly, its better than all but a couple octane boost. I recommend it 100%, try it, if you don't like it your only out about 8 bucks, one bottle last me about 2 weeks end I ride every day.

This link has interesting referances concerning octane.

What is the difference you speak of here?

And thanks to everyone who chimed in - good info. I may give the HD stuff a try.

I was and still do use that H-D stuff with Duralt(?) that ubreal mentioned, but I didn't know the history of it and all the other benefits it had other then keeping the top end clean.

I put it in about every 3 or 4 fillups.

I know this is an old post, but I have used the HD Fuel Additive in all my Harleys. I started based on the suggestion of a parts person at a local dealer in the fall of 2006.

Like others I immediately noticed a difference in fuel mileage and power in the 07 FXSTC. It also seemed like the bike ran a bit smoother. I continued using it in the 09 FLHTCU with even more noticeable improvement in power when carrying a load.

The HD additive became harder to find at dealers about a year ago, and I was told HD had stopped supplying it. As I toured around I bought every bottle I could find because I'm convinced it is the best additive for my particular situations after trying some other alternatives. Now I can't find it anywhere within a couple hundred miles.

Since the bottle states Duralt is a main active ingredient I've tried to find that on the Internet since I'm down to my last bottle of the HD branded additive. I found a couple places that claim to sell it, but they all say they are out of stock. I suspect the company has stopped making it or has limited their supply drastically. I hate that because the additive did work very well in the three Harleys I've used it in. If anyone knows how to purchase the original HD Fuel Additive or Duralt please share it here. I'd like to purchase a supply to keep on hand.
