Question Everyone use locktite green 680 on cam gears?

I have the green 290 that is meant to wick in after installation of inner cam gears, but I think they, S&S, want me to use 680 which is applied before pressing. What all do you guys use? On the few vids I've seen nothing is used.

290 is a thread locker where 680 is a flange retainer. I use 620 and place the assembly in a mechanics oven for 20 min @ 220*. But 680 should work fine.

The idea of Loctite is to take up any clearance, which should not be there in the first place. I'd mike the parts and see what the interferance is and go from there. If you have any doubt about the fit use Loctite but make sure it's only applied to the bearing shell itself and not the bore of the case. If you get any inside the bearing it will be dinked. The 290 needs clearance to wick, so it will be worthless in this application. Keep in mind that if the press fit is correct, the loctite will offer next to nothing in retension qualities as 99.9% of it will be squeezed out during the press.
