Default heads

looking at a set of heads for my 06 road glide found a sey off an 01 carb bike whats the difference are the manifolds diff i guess my question will these work

You will be much better off if you use the late heads. They breath much better end if you are porting, much easer to do. Stick with a 06 or newer head.

The 01 heads will work, you just need flanges for a 01 model year. If you are getting a ful port job, than the difference is minimal. If you are just looking for a street(mild) port, stay with the 06's and up.

A 103" with a Wood 6, and a 98" with Wood 400G.

If your going to port the heads the only difference is the intake flanges ($8.00). If not, the 06 heads have a raised floor intake port and a larger exhaust port over the 99-03's I believe. If you want the best case get the 01's, send them to R&R and they will take the core shift out of them, or get the heads off your bike and install 1.900" intake valves, set the quench and compression, and change the cams.
