I am currently running Bassani Header Pipes with Screamin Eagle Slip Ons.
I do not like the way the Headers look on the bike, the big loop in the middle sucks. The numbers are 96 hp with 106 tq. (258 SE Cams), the rest of the build is first class.
I'm looking for a fairly quiet 2-1 system (California Police do not like the fine sound of a high performance engine), I would like to have a ghost pipe to balance the look out on my 08 Ultra Classic.
Will I gain by going to a 2-1 with a ghost pipe(i know the ghost pipe is irrelevant) or will the bassani's be about the same as the 2-1. Forget the Thunder Headers they are to loud.
I've been told Supertrapps have 2-1 ghost system and are fairly quiet, but what about the numbers?
What about 2-1 Fat Cats, do they have a Ghost pipe, and how much does a performance baffle quet down the noise?
To some it all up, Which systems works the best?

+1 on Fatcat pipes. I have V&H BBS and they were loud enough to make my ears ring. I miss some of the sound but the Fatcat pipe does not irritate neighbors and it performs well.

mgm
you want to hear loud with a good nascar sound i fired up my bike today after a crap load of mods done. including a standard baffle in the borzilla and a total re-tune and 58mm t/b.
a lot louder then i thought it would be also sounds evil wicked mean and nasty all at the same time. glad im going to a full face helmet this year as i would of needed ear plugs for sure.

I have the quiet baffle in my Boarzilla, that is a real oxymoron as there is nothing quiet about it. Can't imagine what the standard baffle sounds like...and I do wear earplugs on longer trips.
Post your results when you get it tuned. That should be a good set-up and I think the build has a little more left in it. Maybe the pipe? D&D does make a ghost pipe and the quality is top notch.
I run the D&D Fatcat with standard baffle and it is loud! Maybe try the D&D with quiet baffle or the Super Trapp. Why go with the ghost pipe? It is just more weight when the real goal is performance.
To me a bagger with a 2:1 makes a statement; you mean business and performance take priority over convention.
