I have the SE 258 cams but I aint uh gunna much longer !
I am going with eather the SE 255 or the Woods tw 6-6.
What I want to know which ones, and most importantly "why"
I have the SE 103 CVO heads which is the same as the
103+ heads" with smaller intake valves" forged pistons
and a 10.5:1 CR
I don't give a flyin ____ about red light to red light preformance
I'm more intrested in extream quick passing power on two lane
hi ways. I have a RKC, and and I weigh about 250 lbs.
Ok please help me out kev
Woods 6 cam is designed for torque 1500-4800 RPM
Lobe center lines angles of 100I and 102E
Lobe Seperation angle of 101
Intake closes 40 Degree BTDC
One designed as bolt in with 0.510 another with 0.590 lift. Needs springs, which you may have.
Agressive ramps.
Would like your CR.
All above are what you want for low-mid torque. 99.9% of riding.
i suggest the tw5 cam its a forgotten about cam that is not as aggressive as its big brother the 6hg a little more stout the the tw6.
or you can try a T-man 590 cam a very good cam and its quiet. its very similar to a tw6hg only its not as aggressive.

A Wood 6 would give you that passing power, but I think your compression is a tad high. I'd think a Wood 7 (same specs as a 6, more lift than a 6, less lift than a 6h) should be a good choice with those heads and that compression ratio.
You definitely have to much compression for the 255 cam.
Well i have built 2 motors very similar to yours. I went with the Woods Tw6 on 1 of them and the 6h on the other. Your compression should be good enough to support either cam correctly. The 6H is a monter tq cam and really pulls, but roller rockers and adj pushrods are needed. If you dont mind the expense, that would be my choice. If money is tighter a 6 cam will work as well and would really surprize you by the amount of power it has...

RKC, 103, 10.5.1, head work and SE260 cams which are GREAT!
Kev, you may want to consider SE-251's instead of the 255's , they will work well with your comp and not cause start issues or require releases and cost 1/2 of the Wood cams. I have them with heads that almost everybody on this forum say's are no good at Torque and a 58mm TB and they perform very well. Now I know the cam specs do not tell the whole story but take a look and they are similar to the Wood 6 without the much talked about fast ramps that can create alot of noise. Don't know if your springs will support .580 lift though, worth a look!

I agree in that the Woods 5 likes the higher compression and really is a great cam for that setup. Anothe cam that would be real good would be the HQ575, although the torque comes on a bit later, but still a great bagger cam.
