Default Oil pump alignment screws

Any ingenious ways to align the pump without the oil pump alignment screws? I don't mind spending the money for a set, but then I have to order them and it will be several days before I get by bike running.

just pull the spark plugs put the bike in 5th gear have someone spin the rear wheel as fast as they can while you alternately and slowly tighten the four bolts holding the oil pump. This works very good.

Maybe use a ferrule from a compression fitting over a longer bolt???? Not sure if it would work as i have the tool, but might be worth a look. Take a look in the brass department.

+1. First loosely snug all 4 bolts by hand while spinning rear tire, plugs out, tighten per tq pattern gradually, slowly tightening each one... eventually getting them to tq specs.

Bill C, spinning the wheel while slowly tightening, is not the worse case, it is actually in my service manual.
On the new pump, rotors just float inside their space. This way lets them find their center.

I think spinning works the best. I had a few different cam swaps and spun the first two with no problems. By the time I did the third I had the alignment screws and the motor ended up wet sumping. I pulled things loose, did the spin method and no problems. I'm thinking harley must have had some issues locating their drill holes.
