Alright, to start with when i bought my 2008 superglide custom I had these items done.....
Python slip ons put on
stage 1 air cleaner kit
screamin eagle efi race tuner
"custom" as the dealer calls it download done, apparently the efi race tuner takes custom tunes and not stage 1, stage 2, etc
I installed vance and hines shortshots last night and was told by several people that since i have already had a tune done that these SHOULD be a plug and play.
Started it up and everything seemed to be ok, let it run for a few min then shut it off. It did not start well at all the second time, i had to throttle it and it finally started. Now the bike starts perfecly fine with no issues.
My question comes into as I used to have a "high decible pop" with the slip ons that is now gone and after going for a 10 mile ride to check everything out the pipes are crackling and poping for a few min after I shut it off, I was told this could mean its running to hot. I havent checked the plugs yet, still too warm.
Sorry this is so dragged out but I want to give good info for good feedback .
Could the bike be running to lean now? what is the best way to tell?
Or the obvious, the dealer said for $40.00 they would dyno it and see where it is at. Is this my best bet?
Still cant justify spending $350.00 to have my bike re-tuned and trying to get away with not doing it.
I'd put up a post for "MAP needed" in the EFI section, chances are somebody will have these pipes on a FXD/C and will be able to e-mail it to you. If you have never used the race tuner software it'll be a little difficult, but far from impossible.

Thanks, Ill give it a try.
Joy of all this is, is that it looks like the dealer lost my race tuner and that I will have to figure something out. Any ideas?? lol
my bike to running lean. It just started about week ago. Had the bike now for two years with out any problems. Thinking it could be clogged fuel injectors, bad gas, plugged fuel filter, I don't know.
It is a 2005 Deluxe, fuel injector system. Stage one kit with an exhaust system. Was mapped when the kit was installed several years ago.
Took the bike in yesterday to the dealer, he took both plugs off and the plugs do look like it is running lean. They said they will start with the fuel pressure test for starters and go from their.
This just started, I go to the same gas station every fill up, same grade of gas, I really don't like to go to different gas stations.
Thanks, Ill give it a try.

One thing is the dealer owes you a new tuner (big time). I had decel pop, cylinders front running lean the other rich on mine until I had a pro tune it expensive but she runs right.
