What I'd LIKE to do is a 117. Hillside port with larger intake. maybe 9.8:1 or 10:1.... run any gas I can find. Woods TW6. Money is too tight by far to do this.
So.. on the 'other' site... guy has what I've described for sale. HEY!!! Now I would have my original heads to send to Scot and his crank to send out to Hoban when money permits. In the mean time, run the 103. Sounded pretty good to me. My only true down time would be machining the cases.
But parts book doesn't lie. 09 front head has an 08 part number, Dyna won't fit the bagger.
So. money being what it is... I will probably buy the TW6 with the gear and run that for the summer. Then maybe this fall I can finish out the rest. The 7h is same cam with higher lift, and woulda worked out with higher comp 103 or 117, but NOT with the 96 I have now.

Stock heads, big bores, watch pistons, use flatops of reverse dome. With 103 bigger bore you will raise CR all by itself even with flatops. Don't get domes.
Check further about the heads. Offhand I though Daynas and Tourers had the same engine.
The 08 after the part number doesn't mean it won't fit a 09. Actually check it out. Harley has more different heads that Small Block Chevys.
I'm running a 103", 10.5.1, mild port and I mean "mild", springs, .609 lift cam, no compression releases needed, SERT and mine is running great. I ride 1 up, 2 up, low RPM, high RPM...no problems in the first 1500 miles...
10.5:1 is not a problem in a properly built and tuned engine.
I can run across country with my 120 running on everything from 94 to 87 octane without issues, although for extreme temps and poor fuel I did have to pull a bit of timing, but nothing major. If I would have actually tuned originally for the poor fule and temps, it would be fine also where I live.
i run higher then those guys and have no problms with my bike altho it is not a bagger i still ride it pretty hard .
Dave from JD's cycleworks built his bagger 120ci tw8 cam 10.8 compression and Baisley pro street heads and he goes every evert where with that bike no problems at all.
