Default Chain tensioners on B motors

All the B/S about the chain drive cams, but never here anybody gripe about the chain driven counter-balancers. Are these a timebomb too? Also, those that are running big HP motors in the newer bikes, did you ditch the counter-balancers?

no........ no time bomb just hype from people trying to push their products on ya.
i got rid of mine but if i had to do it again i would of kept them....
i replaced just about everything that can vibrate off and locktite everything else. but i do spin the motor a little more then the avg rider does but my motor was built to do it.

I like to play on the upper side of the rpm range myself, but got to thinking about those counter-balancers spinning around in there. I here conflicting sides about weather or not a "B" motor is safe up to 6200 rpm. I don't hit the 6200 rpm rev-limiter that much, but set at 5500, I'll hit it quite regular.

If you really want to lose sleep think about the speed at which a piston changes direction at 6200. All of a sudden it would appear the balancers job is a walk in the park. I really can't find much negative on the balancers and overall are very problem free. Keep in mind for design purposes 6200 rpm has a built in safety factor. Guessing here, but they would likely start thinking of leaving the engine around 7k. Don't quote me on that though.
