Default overheat sensor

i have a 04 heritage classic with stage 1 air filter and v&h straightshot hs pipes . i encountered an idleing problem while in traffic at the mb rally. it sounded like it was only hitting on 1 cylinder. after talking to a fellow rider he told me that this sounded like the overheat protection system activated and shut 1 cylinder down. i have the service manual but dont recall seeing any info on the subject . does anyone know of a publication with an article about this, and is it even on the softails . thanks in advance!

Default RE: overheat sensor

It's under Engine Heat Management (EFI) in the 2006 Dyna owners manual on Pg 92. There are 3 phases outlined. Phase 3 is where the EFI pulses are interrupted and air is drawn in to cool the engine (only when bike is stationary and at 356F)

BTW, if you aren't running 20w50 synthetic oil, you might wish to consider it. JMHO
