I appreciate the time spent to reply. What is the Baisley spring? I also was under the impression that a 98 kit required case work to clearance for something?? Am I wrong there?? If I can get by with 10.25 to 1 compression I will definitely do that. So if the general concensus is a 10 to 1 motor can live in the real world with stoplights I am definitely doing that.I found a 10 to 1 wiseco kit complete for $425.00 smackaroonies. So I might snag it up. Still gotta pick my cams and I want to stick with stock heads, valves, springs and such. So mild cams are what I want. I dont feel the need for a higher rpm range. How about a recomendation on a mild cam set. What Hp and Torque numbers are respactable on a 95 street motor??

there is no clearancing of the case needed for the 98", it is just a slightly larger bore than the 95".
Hillside does the 98" bore and has the pistons/gaskets setup for a real good price -- they are fairly close (shipping-wise) to you. there are others that do it also, GMR, kingofCubes are two more I can think of that do 98" bore jobs....
I have a 98 inch going together today with the andrews 26 cam. With the Andrews N conversion kit as he had a bad pump and plate. Stock heads PC tune and true duals. Will post up the sheet if you are intrested to see how it does??
Thats a real nice lookin Dyno Sheet there. I like an engine that has almost equal torque and hp numbers with smooth curves. I bet that rides really nice! Cool Info. Thanks for the help. I got that message as well. Thanks
Good stuff! Jamesw, I have same bike, with same target needs. I have the Baisley for the very reason you stated, 0 lbs. at the lights was freakin me out. I already lost inner bearings and bike has been setting for to long. I have access to complete old school machine shop at my work. Itching to get her reworked and back on the road. I thank you for your detailed response to Parts eater's post. By the way, what do you people think about the Revolution 98" kits?

98 is very close to being a square motor (bore = to stroke)
113 would be close to square if upgrading a 96. HP and TQ #'s will be very close to the same with the combinations.
Lot of 98's running around out there that will flat out embarass bigger high dollar builds.
