I know it's been a while since I've done any posting, I'm back.
Can I have too much starting compression. Had some bad noises from my gear case or front cyl on a ride. Took it apart and rechecked everything all is good. Did a compression test today and came up with 170 psi front and 170 rear.
Over winter I put in new rings and honed cylinders.

Thanks
Lifters have about 70k on them. Just the light. It seemed as though the case was over pressurizing also, lost alot of oil thru the breather, I thought.
After I put it back together, I went and rode 70+ miles hard. Once parked I think I lost about a tablespoon of oil after parked. I don't think it's coming out of the breather, a little leak from the pushrod seals and maybe the lifter block gaskets.
Other than that runs freekin' great.
These stock PSI's are high or at least I think so. I thought stock was 120 or 140 something like that. Not stock can be all over the place but the same front and rear is Priceless. Tsarscott you heard the noise after you were cruising, right. now you mention the blow by, I would spend some thought on your oil pump and system, make sure it isn't pumping all the oil into the engine than loseing pressure (noise) and starting over again. Ya Know? welcome home. don over and out>>>

I took a Cold Cranking Compression reading before and after my cam swap to see what was going on and to put it in my logbook. I was happy that they were even, I didn't expect that.

Yep the noise went away. Everything seems to be okay, still paranoid. This is my second Evo build/owned didn't have this problem b4.
Thanks for all help/advice.
