I have worked and saved my *** off for my first Harley. I bought a 2009 Road king and I am so disappointed in the sound. One of the reasons you buy a Harley is for that deep cackle loud sound.
I bought the Vance & Hines ovals that don't sound bad, but it's not the sound coming out of any bike older than 2009.
If I wanted a quiet bike I would have bought a Yamaha.
Is there a pipe out there for 2009 touring model that has sound and performance?
The guys at Harley seem to think ignorant recommendations at my expense are ok.
I have been out to bike night, it seems the sound I am after is coming from true duel straight pipes, but I am told at local harley shop that those are not good for the 2009 model.
bike nite and try to hear am sound of the pipes from a bike similar to yours.
also i agree i beleive i brought approx 5-6 sets of pipes now i use the borzilla.
next year i am looking at a GUPPY. http://www.jbvracing.com/index.html
Yup. Swap cams, bump compression or run advance key if needed, put some pipes on.

That guppy looks interesting. Do they not make a model for touring bikes??
Ryan not yet but from what we have been hearing they are trying to get one going . the problem with the baggers is the length the pipe needs to be. ask TXCHOP he will tell you i knowTXCHOP, Scott and Dave were talking about cutting a pipe up and doing some experminting over the winter.
dont want to burn a hole in the bag.
the problem with the guppy is its loud and it is more a horsepower pipe then a tq pipe.
