Default Adjustable Pushrods

My bike is in the shop having the HQ107ST build done to it and I was wondering about the pushrods. I currently have the SE EZ install rods in there now but I have a brand new set of Crane EZ install rods and the OEM rods left over from the cam swap I had done. The OEM rods have about 10K miles on them. I thought that I had read about a problem with the ends of the SE rods and was just wondering if I should change them out and which way should I go? With the Cranes if I have to try to adj. out a valve train issue or with soild OEMs and hope I don't need to do anything?

If the OEM units are the correct length, use them. There have been some problems with the later SE Quick Install Tapered units; I have had two come loose on one of my bikes and will not use them. You just need to consider the cam base circle and any other geomtrey considerations like thinner head gasket and decking heads to see if the length of the OEM units will work, they might not.

Smith Brothers will be offering a quick intall pushrod by mid December that will probably be the strongest and most rigid of it's kind avaialble if you can wait that long.

We have installed thousands of dollars worth of S&S chrome-moly pushrods over the years with issues. Top quality items.
The Smith units look to be about a week away at last contact with them.

I put the SE's that come in the kit with the covers. They have worked OK, but adjusting them was a PITA. There are only 4 flats on the rod, and it made adjusting them difficult.

If I was redoing the job, I wold go with the Andrews or S&S.

Ya know the outer rod has 6 flats and the inner has 4. You could have held the inner 4 flat rod still and adjusted the outer 6 flat part if the 2 flat difference was really that big of a deal. Just sayin'...
