'98 80" Tear down
This is where y'all come in.
It needs some work and I ain't rich. here are some spec's.
The stock air cleaner has been replaced w/ K&N, the air/fuel plug has been drilled out, It has a set of LOUD Samson Ripsaws. As far as I can tell these are the only mods done. It has 27,000miles on the clock.
Here's the problem.
It starts fine no problems, after it warms up it starts to puff white/light colored smoke, (smells like oil). It also has a base gasket leaking. I need some advice as to how far to go with the teardown and repair (upgrades ETC). What to look for, watch for, replace while I'm into it that far. Those kinda things. any help would be very much appreciated.
Sorry for the book, I'm sure there are many questions to be answered. Please hit me up.
Thanks in advance
The Moco issued a service bulletin in regards to the lifters to be "inspected and/or replaced @ 25,000.
The base gasket(primary side, rear cyl??)can be addressed via Cometic units.
If going to check all this, then only a couple more screws to pull the cam cover, and slip an Andrews 27, or Wood 6 in, and re-surface the cylinder heads. Something to think about.
