I am currently running Andrews 26G in my bagger and would like to try something different. Not sure what I want yet and I may very well be interested in switching brands.
The gear set I installed is also manufactured by Andrews which brings me to my question.
Will I be able to use this same gear set with any brand of gear driven cams. For example, I checked the Zippers website and they say that their gear driven cams are for use with S & S gear drive gear sets. I have been told that the S & S gear drive set is exactly the same as the Andrews set, and that it is in fact manufactured by Andrews.
Haven't checked into all of the other manufacturers and figured I would check with you guys before I waste my time.
Thanks and I hope everybody gets some sweet parts (probably better off with gift certs) for Christmas tomorrow.
Yes, you can run those gears, just check lash when setting them up. Andrews does make the S&S gears. I am not aware of any other manufacturers but even if I was, I would stick with Andrews. With lash tolerances of .0005", quality control is pretty important and Andrews has been manufacturing cams and gears for a long time.
