Default Torque Cones

Ive heard that straight pipes make the cylinders run to hot because there is not enough back pressure, so if you use torque cones will it eliminate this problem.

They would cause and engine to run hot if running too lean, as most any open pipe will want more fuel, but the torque cones are right in the path of the raw flame.
A better way to control the reversion, that an open pipe presents, is on the other end of it. Believe this or not, but a 1/4" bolt, 1 1/2" long, stacked with 3-4-5, 5/16" nuts, then nutted with the 1/4" nut, will allow the reversion to be almost totally controlled, without pinching off the horsepower.
