Probably time to replace them. Evo lifters are well known for lasting only about 30K miles. I replaced mine at 3K, and one was pretty bad. The roller axle was half way work, about 1/8" of slop. Destroyed the lifter block, too.
I replaced mine with S&S parts: lifters, blocks, pushrods.
Replacement is easy. Buy two alingment tools/pins, not just one. You'll need both of them. Soak the lifters in motor oil for a while before installing them. I coated mine with moly assembly lube for the install.
You can continue to use the stock push rods. But I installed S&S adjustable ones instead. Do a search here for adjustment procedures.
It's a pretty simple job. Time consuming, but simple.
