Default s/s lifters

Hi all, I have been gathering parts for a cam change. I have four new s/s lifters that I got on e-bay two months ago. To day I got them out and looking at them they are all four 33-5342 and look brand new. I was pushing in on the pushrod side and tree are stiff and push in about 1/4" but the fourth one pushes 1/2" and somewhat easier to push. doesnt seem right to me, anyone think this is normal?

I don't know, but would imagine if they are hydraulic lifters they would all have to be primed with oil first and probably are the same then.

Probably because they have been sitting up...put them in a pan of oil, and push them with a pushrod till they free up.

Maybe one of these lifters has the limited travel washer installed ? Probably just needs to be pumped up One can disassemble these lifters and see if that washer is installed These washers make the lifter act as a semi solid for easier starting
