Default Gear or chain?

What type of cams go in my 07 Nighttrain? Gear or chain? I'm looking to get SE204's.

Stock is chain drive, don't convert to gear unless you check pinion shaft run-out carefully. The 204 's are chain.

SE doesn't make any cams in gear drive......and you have an '07- there's no need to swap from the hydraulic tensioner set-up (like you already have) to gears.

What the difference between the 204's for 00-06 softails and 07 and up softails? Will a 00-06 cam work in the 07's? I'm somewhat new to this. Thanks for the help.

Hey 103, when you get them cams in make sure you get it over to Joe's for the tune. My bike is on it's way up there.

Don't know if there is a diff. between the cams. Why would you want to put in a part that is not specific to your year and model?

Well thats the thing i can get a pair of 204's cheap but the part number says they are for 00-06 softails. There is a different part number for the 07 and up softails just wondering what the difference is. Smug i've been to Joes not sure about the numbers his dyno puts out. It really seems to be a HAPPY dyno.

If there diff. part #'s I wouldn't mess around, just my 2 cents. About Joe's, my bike has been on three diff. dyno's, Woodstock, Maroney's, and Joe's all with similar #'s, can you elaborate more?

My buddy had his bagger built by Woodstock
103''
headwork
cams
flywheel and a bunch of other crap
His #'s were 92hp & 104ft.lbs.
Joe tuned it this week and got 104hp & 120ft.lbs.

Oh ya, same guy, bolted a turbo on his V-Rod (where and who I don't know). Joe did the tune
167hp
Torque is around 135ft.lbs.
