I'd just follow the specs provided for the pistons and rings. Can't go wrong with that.

The Wiseco's have a different gap for the top, and second ring.
Don't know what piston you have though??

The local engine builder recommends 4 thousandths per inch of bore on the top ring, 4-5 thousandths per inch of bore on the second ring, and .015-.050 on the oil rings. Sound about right?

For what it's worth as an example only, my CP pistons require Bore x .0045-.005 on the top ring, Bore x .005-.006 for the second ring, and minimum .015 for the oil rings. This is for Street/high performance. The second ring requires a touch more gap since it runs hotter than the top in just about any piston/ring fit. I'm sure your builder has a handle on all of this.

And whatever you do, DO NOT leave old parts, in the clients engine...
