McMaster-Carr shims
I read a thread a while back that contained the part numbers for various McMaster-Carr shims (for various thicknesses). I tried searching but can't seem to find that thread. Does anybody else have the McMaster-Carr part numbers or remember the thread I read about? I want to shim my rockers and want to make sure I get the correct shims.

I've been to the McMaster-Carr site but I'm not sure what size shims I need (ID and OD as well as the material). I remember reading it on here but can't find the thread again. Does anybody know the size and material I should get for the shims?

Use of shims is a great idea as long as you don't use a extremely thin shim. Have pulled several engines apart that had broken shims laying in the rocker boxes. Seemed that most of the shims was there rather hard to tell for sure though.
The biggest thing I see is improper fitment from the rocker to the shaft or the shaft to the support plate. The shafts can wear but they are much harder than the parent material they run on.
