Why SE??
No matter what you might think, or the dealer says, if you modify the engine very much, plainly stated in the SE Catalog, you will loose the warrenty.
If that is not a issue you can, many times get better for less outside HD.
I modified a lot. I'm sure if I had ever needed my warrenty they would have not been pleased.
Having said that, many SE stuff available now is very good. Got to pick and choose though.
The warrenty is the problem.
I live in Brazil, the HD here is very strict about warrenty. Any change, they may find a reason to disqualify the warranty.
For this reason I prefer the SE-II, to not loose the warrenty.
