I just installed my Big Shot Staggereds on today. I could not imagine how loud they would be without the quiet baffles. I think they will definatley set of car alarms with the quiet baffles. I will post pictures soon. I love the sound.[sm=drooldude.gif]

That's the exact pipes I'm thinking about for my soon to be delivered 05 Fat Boy. I am interested in how they sound and how loud they are with the baffles. I have heard that the V&H are loud, I'm hopeing with the baffles that they are not too loud.....
I put a set on my 05 Fatboy Anniversary. Love the look and they are plenty loud. They will set off car alarms. Side street I take home always has a car with the alarm set and I set it off every time I go by. Not intentional, of course
I was at the dealer today and they had two Fat Boys in for service - both with Vance Hines Big Shots. One had quite baffles, the other had regular baffles. I listened to both and prefered the sound of the quite baffles. They were still loud, but didnt have the higher pitched "tinny" sound that the std baffles had.
I went with the Big Shot Staggereds on my 2005 Fat Boy AE with the stock baffles and then switched to the Quiet Baffles. Like the Quiets better, since IMHO they are deeper and more mellow. My friends who heard both tend to agree.
Did you have to remove the pipes to install the quiet baffles? My baffle screws are behind the heat shields. Also by installing the quiet baffle, did it lessen the decel popping?
I have a 2005 Night Train with V&H Straight Shots, (they are 2&1/4 in. pipes). I aloso had a SE air cleaner kit installed & had my carb rejetted (with a #46 jet). I took my baffels out & cut them in half & put them back in, I also put the V&H tappered tips on. My bike sounds GREAT...................Loud & deep.
NOW at 2400 miles I tried this out.......I took my tips off & pulled the baffels out & WOW it its like HAMMER BANGING LOUD & when I lrt off the gas it sounds lik a funny car with a blown out 396..........................
I put my 1/2 baffels back in HE HE HE .LOVE IT!!!!!!
swicegk: the set screws on my staggereds were accessable with the heat shields on as they were on the back side of the pipe where the heat shield was open. I can change them pretty easy. If yours is behind the heat shield it could be a problem. Can you remove the heat shield without removing the pipe?
