Fouled Plugs

Default Fouled Plugs
I replaced my ignition coil and spark plugs on my '78 sportster. The plugs are different because a Harley dealer told me that they are the wrong ones. It has an SS carb on it, so they might be wrong. Does anyone know anything about the SS carbs and why my stock plugs foul on my bike.

Is the bike running too rich? Maybe you need to lean out the carb a little.

Maybe they sold you a hotter plug, but if you are fouling, you still seem to be running rich.

They told me that the plugs I had were too hot, so I think they sold me not-so-hot ones.

What's the number on the old & new plugs? What jets are in the S&S, and how do these jets correspond to what S&S says is appropriate for your motor?
