Baffle ring/ lolipop baffle installation?

Default Baffle ring/ lolipop baffle installation?
I have V&H long shots with no baffle installed, I just purchased a set of baffle rings, The question I have is do the tappered end go towards the motor or the exhaust opening? I beleive either way they will build up back pressure just wondering on which way is prefered for installing, any help would be greatfull!!!!!

If installed at the exit of the pipe the small end at the exit will work the best.
