My bike seems to run fine except for this nagging problem I'm having.
This problem happens everyday. Sometimes when downshifting I hit
the throttle to bring my rpm's up before i release the clutch and when
I do so the bike chokes on me sometimes stalling. Also on occasion
when I hit the throttle at a light the bike does the same thing and a
black puff of smoke come out the mufflers. Not a huge puff but noticable.
I have an 05 Deuce with SEII's and the new K&N filter assembly. My slow
jet is a 48 and my main is a 190. I also put a little washer to raise the needle
a bit. The air/fuel is pretty bang on and note that this problem has been hapening
since I purchased the bike when it was bone stock. The dealer tells me that I'm
hittng the throttle to hard but when I go to the track those guys are hitting the
throttle like crazy but mine is the only one that chokes..........
What is your idle set at? Should be around 900 to 1000. Is there an adjustment for the accelerator pump, if so, bump until you can blip the trottle from idle(in neutral) and it doesn't hesitate.
Those are the same problems my bike has, but I got EFI. I assemed my problem was in the fuel pak. I stalled this morning going a round a corner in front of two other bikes. Boy I looked like a douch.
hey guys!!
I went to the dealer today and after a few minutes of arguing with
the shop manager they ordered me a new carburator. No matter
what they where doing there was always too much gaz and it would
cause the bike to stall and a nice backfire through the air cleaner.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's the problem. Oh yeah! It's
guaranteed...
I'll keep you guys posted.
