So, yes I searched thru ten pages of results before asking this and didnt get a good answer.
Bike is a 99 softail w/ the CV 40 carb. Recently the carb has started overflowing from the bowl, the bike still runs perfect it's just overflowing. Adjusted the float and no better, the carb just sits there and overflows pretty much constantly, doesnt matter if the bike is hot or cold. Adjusted the float to the point where the engine was starving, sputtering and running like crap but it was still overflowing. Bike is at a shop now, they completely rebuilt the carb and checked everything out, put it back together and still flowing, any ideas?
The only things I can think of are the brass overflow tube in the float bowl is damaged or the bowl drain screw isn't seating. Try a bowl from another carb.
