Hello guys I have 1986 1100 sporty with an odd carb problem the mental midgit that owned the bike before me tried to bore out the needle valve seat in the float bowl I'v rebuilt the carb cause the bike sat for years.
cleaned every thing so now is spotless but when I turn the fuel on it over fills float bowl and runs out over flow tube incase your wonderin this is not my first carb rebuild set and ajusted as per specs still over fills bowl.
Pulled carb back off and inspected needle seat and comparied to anouther carb of same model and year and the hole has been enlarged.
is the seat replaceable and how does it come out? or do I need to just buy a dozen needle valves in various sizes an try to match one to fit this is a non CV carb it's the butter fly styl any help would be great .
and why would anyone do this to a carb don't realy see any benifit to getting more fuel in if the eng can't pull it in with out chokeing to death
What type of carb is it ? look online for parts and see if you can match up the seat with the needle valve. it may need to be pressed out and a new one installed. .Mark..
Might be easier and less trouble in the long run to find a CV carb and throw it on. No advantage to BF style and the CV is plenty of carb when tuned correctly.
