will engine tins overheat engine

Angry will engine tins overheat engine
I have a chrome cover on the right side that runs from behind the engine to the trans side cover and over it and behind it. I was told that this will over heat my oil and kill the engine in hot weather what do you think?

Any chrome piece that you put on as an engine cover will help over heat the engine.Chrome retains heat & will cause un-neccessary heat to be stored in the motor & oil!!! I would take the advice & take it off.Chrome will not help you get home!!!!
