Hi Ya'll,
I'm happy to say that I have cured my wide glide of all its respiratory ailments. Its is now breathing through a screaming eagle air cleaner, SEII slip-ons and a keihin racing jet kit. I originally installed a dynojet kit which cured the problems but I was just not happy with the performance gains. Keihin came through for me. Live and learn! I honestly believe that just removing the air screw plug and richening up the mixture, would cure most problems...

Still it seems many people are not only complaining about popping and coughing, but many say they experience this cut out problem. There's something not right that needs to be fixed. Although my bike doesn't cough all the time it will under certain conditions based on how I roll the throttle. It will also cut out from time to time and I doubt it's because I'm lugging the engine. I know how an engine lugging sounds. Having the bike misfire or have a feeling that it stopped working for a split second has to be a problem. This has happened when I was going over a bump and it sounds like it just shifted gears (although it hasn't). I'll talk with the dealership about this at the 1K mi. service and see what they say.
